In 1957 Bobby became lead vocalist for The Drifters,
replacing Johnny Moore. He toured with stars like Paul Anka, The
Diamonds, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, Fats Domino, The Big
Bopper and many more.
While with The Drifters, Bobby recorded "DRIP
DROP", "MOONLIGHT BAY" and "SUDDENLY THERE'S A VALLEY". As
a solo artist, Bobby recorded the smash hit "ITCHY TWITCHY
FEELING". Later he join Bill Pinkney and The Original
Drifters and toured worldwide for 17 years.
Since then Bobby has continued to tour and perform not only
in noted live venues but also on nationally televised events
like "DOO WOP 51" . Bobby was also inducted into the DOO WOP
HALL OF FAME in Boston in 2001. |
